Who are you?

​This is a question many of us encounter at some point on the path of self-discovery.

But how do we answer it?

When we approach this question as we would any other, our mind immediately begins searching for a description. We try to define ourselves with words, labels, achievements, roles, or personality traits. Yet somehow none of these ever seem to capture who we truly are.

This question was never meant to be answered intellectually.

Instead, it invites us to investigate ourselves, and gradually discover who we really are beneath all the layers we have accumulated throughout life.

A  Beautiful Lifelong Journey

For most of us, understanding ourselves is a long journey, a lifelong unfolding. It is designed to be that way, and it’s an absolutely beautiful process.

As we mature, many of us naturally begin asking deeper questions.

What truly makes me happy?

What do I genuinely love to do?

Am I living according to my own nature, or am I trying to become someone I think I should be?

What are my natural gifts?

What are my fears and where do they come from?

 

You are Unique

There has never been anyone exactly like you, and there never will be.

Each of us expresses life in a completely unique way.

From a spiritual perspective, each of us is a unique spark of the Divine. Every person carries their own beauty, qualities, talents, and challenges. 

And no life is more important than another, we are all of equal value. 

As the Persian poet Rumi expressed so beautifully:

"By God, when you see your own beauty, you will be the idol of yourself."

 

A Mirror of You in the Stars
